    Small Brown Lentils Recipe | NON-GMO | Vegetarian

    Hello everyone and welcome back ! Today we are making yummy small brown lentils, these are really high in protein. In our south asian culture these lentils are usually served with fresh rice and salads. The key is to have best tasting lentils …The south asian stores usually have big size lentils available , there is definitely a difference in taste so be careful what and where you are buying from. Smaller lentils are the best , I bought mine from amazon. These are Non-GMO Project Verified , 100% Non-Irradiated, Certified Kosher and grown right here in the USA.     WHAT YOU NEED

    • Onion                                1 small (slices)
    • Garlic                                 5-6 cloves ( chopped )
    • Lentils                               1 cup
    • Water                                 6 cups
    • Sunflower Oil                   1/2 cup
    • Cilantro                             For Garnish
    • Spices
      • Red Pepper                         1/2 TSP or per taste
      • Himalayan Salt                   1-1/2 TBSP or per taste
      • Turmeric                              1/2 TSP
      • Crushed Red Pepper         1/2 TSP or per taste

    Instructions

    1. Add water to pot
    2. Bring to boil
    3. While you wait for water to boil –Add washed brown lentils to the water
    4. Add spices
    5. Once water boils , cover the pan on medium heat
    6. Let it cook for 30-40 min
    7.  Check occasionally and stir the lentils.
    8. After 30 min check lentils if soft means you are done.
    9. For gravy its up to you .. if you want less water and more softer lentils let it cook more until more water evaporates , If you think you wanted more gravy you may add hot water to create extra gravy.
    10.  Prepare Tadka
    11. Add oil in a pan
    12. Add garlic and onions
    13. Fry until golden brown.
    14. Add Tadka to lentils.
    15. Garnish with Cilantro
    16. Enjoy with fresh rice , chutney and salad.

    Easy Daal Gosht دال گوشت | Mutton With Gram Lentil

     

    Hello Everyone , Its time to try a new recipe and today I am sharing my recipe of Daal Gosht aka Mutton With Gram Lentil. This is a great recipe for meat lovers and people who love healthy food because gram lentil ( also known as chana daal / split chickpeas ) has tremendous benefits. Majority of lentils are high in protein and also a great source for vitamins and minerals. The sum of protein that exists in lentils is up to 35%, which is equivalent to red meat, fish, poultry as well as dairy products.     WHAT YOU NEED ( Serves 4-5 people )

    • Mutton                              1 lbs ( estimate ) (pre-boiled)
    • Onion                                1 Medium (chopped)
    • Gram Lentil                      1 cup (pre-boiled)
    • Tomatoes                          2 (Organic) (chopped)
    • Ginger/Garlic Paste        2 TBSP
    • Sunflower Oil                    1 Cup
    • Green Chillies                   5-6
    • Cilantro                              For Garnish
    • Spices
      • Red Pepper                         per taste or 1 Tbsp
      • Himalayan Salt                  per taste
      • Cumin Powder                   1 Tbsp
      • Coriander Powder             1 Tbsp
      • Turmeric                             1/2 TSP
      • Cumin Seeds                       1/2 TSP
      • Black Pepper                      Sprinkle for Garnish

    Instructions

    1. Heat oil in pan
    2. Add onions fry until golden brown
    3. Add green chillies
    4. Add ginger/garlic paste
    5. ( sprinkle water whenever needed )
    6. Add meat
    7. Fry meat for 5-10 min
    8. Add tomatoes
    9. Add spices
    10. Fry on medium heat until tomatoes dissolve
    11. Add gram lentil
    12. Add desired water for gravy
    13.  Cover pot and leave on low heat for 10-15 min.
    14. Garnish with Cilantro and Black Pepper
    15. Enjoy with fresh roti or rice.

    What you need

    • Red Kidney Beans              1 Cup
    • Water                                    5 Cup
    • Organic Tomato                  1 medium sized
    • Green Chillies (Serrano)   1
    • Onion                                    1 medium sized
    • Ginger/Garlic Paste           1 TBSP
    • Sunflower Oil                       1/2 Cup
    • Cilantro                                 For Garnish

    Spices

    • Red Pepper                         per taste or 1/2 Tbsp
    • Himalayan Salt                  per taste
    • Cumin Powder                   1/2 Tbsp
    • Coriander Powder             1/2 Tbsp
    • Turmeric                             1/2 TSP

     

    Instructions

    1. There are two sizes available for red kidney beans we are using the small size bought at the local south asian grocery store ( it is said that the small size tastes better )
    2. You can soak it overnight if you like you don’t have to but it ll make things easier.You can boil the beans before starting the recipe so its easier to cook  OR you can use a pressure cooker.
    3. Chop Onion
    4. Add Onions to the pot with 1/2 Cup Oil
    5. Fry for 4-5 minutes
    6. Add Ginger/Garlic Paste
    7. Add tomatoes and green chillies
    8. Stir , sprinkle some water if the onions start to stick to the pot.
    9. Add all the spices
    10. Stir and mix well
    11. Add beans and mix
    12. Add water
    13. Securely close your pressure cooker for and leave it for about 25-30 min
    14. If you choose not to use a pressure cooker at this point you can add another cup of water and leave it on stove for 40-50 min.
    15. Add Cilantro
    16. Serve hot with flat bread ( Roti ) and Enjoy!

    Hello Everyone , Below you ‘ll find the written and the videos for the following recipe.

    Chanay Ka Salan With Rice | Chickpea Gravy | Garbanzo Beans

    You Will Need..

    1 Medium Organic Onion Chopped

    2 Organic Tomatoes

    2 Tbsp Ginger/Garlic Paste

    2.5 Cup Boiled Chickpeas ( Garbanzo Beans ) With Leftover Water (If possible ) otherwise regular water is fine.

    1 Cup Water ( add more to create your desired gravy look )

    1/2 Cup Sunflower Oil

    1-2 Sliced Green Chillies

    Organic Cilantro ( For Garnish )

    Spices 

    Himalayan Salt ( per taste)

    Red pepper ( Per Taste , I used around 1- 1/2 tbsp)

    Turmeric 1/2 Tsp

    Cumin Powder 1/2 TBSP

    Coriander Powder 1/2 TBSP

    Murgh Cholay Masala ( Optional for extra flavor ) – 1/2 tsp

    Instructions.

    1. Heat Oil
    2. Add Onions
    3. Light Brown Onions
    4. Add Ginger Garlic Paste
    5. Add tomatoes
    6. Fry For 5-10 min
    7. Add All Spices
    8. Add Shan Murgh Cholay Masala
    9. Add Green Chillies
    10. Stir
    11. Add Chickpea with water
    12. Bring water to boil.
    13. Cover Pot
    14. Let it simmer on low heat for 10 min.
    15. Add Cilantro

    For The Rice

    You Will Need..

    1. Small portion of Onion Sliced ( as shown in video )
    2. Pre-soaked rice 1 Cup
    3. Boiled Chickpea 1/2 Cup
    4.  Water 2 Cups
    5. Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
    6. Salt (per taste)

    Method

    1. Fry Onions till light brown
    2. Sprinkle water
    3. Add cumin seeds
    4. Add salt
    5. Stir
    6. Add water
    7. Add Chickpea ( Garbanzo Beans )
    8. Add Rice
    9. Give it final stir & check salt is according to taste,
    10. Cover the pot
    11. Let it simmer for 15 min
    12. Enjoy!
