    Delicious & Simple Recipe For Bhindi (Okra)

    Hello Everyone. I hope you are all doing well and are ready to try yet another simple and quick recipe. Today I shared an absolutely yummy recipe for bhindi (okra) also known as lady finger in some countries. Okra has great benefits and add a touch of spices such as turmeric and its benefits increases 10x.

    Okra provides potassium, vitamin B, vitamin C, folic acid, and calcium. It’s low in calories and has a high dietary fiber content.Recent researches have shown that it helps manage blood sugar of type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes.

    I hope you try this recipe at home and love it.

    You Will Need

    Sunflower Oil                                 5 Tbsp

    Large Onion                                    1

    Organic Roma Tomatoes              2

    Okra ( Bhindi )                               1/2 Lbs

    Turmeric                                          1/2 Tsp

    Red Pepper                                      1 Tsp ( or as desired )

    Himalayan Salt                               1 Tsp ( or as desired )

    Cumin Powder                                1 Tsp

    Coriander Powder                          1 Tsp

    Black Pepper                                   Sprinkle

    Serve with yogurt it becomes 10x more delicious trust me !

    If you want to change it up a bit more you can also add Nigella Seeds ( Kalonji ) which doesn’t just give it a different taste but has so many health benefits as well.

    Instructions

    Heat Oil. Add sliced onions , fry on medium heat for 5-10 minutes.

    Add Tomatoes , fry until tomatoes turn into paste.

    Add all the spices. Mix well.

    Add Okra , Mix well with spices and fry for 5 minutes on high heat.

    Cover and leave on low heat for 10-15 min.

    Once ready sprinkle with black pepper.

    Chicken Biryani

    Ingredients

    • 4 Cup Basmati Rice
    • 1 Whole Chicken
    • 1 1/2 TBSP of Ginger/Garlic Paste
    • 1 Small Bowl of Yogurt
    • 3 Tomatoes
    • 2 Medium Onions
    • 1 Shan Malay Chicken Biryani
    • 2 Small sticks of Cinnamon
    • 2 drops of yellow color in 2 TBSP water

    Garnish

    • 10 Dried Plum
    • Mint
    • Fried Onions

    Directions

    • Chop and Fry Onions Until they turn golden brown (you can take a spoon or two out for garnish or you can fry onions separately for garnish)
    • Add Ginger/Garlic paste
    • Add Chicken
    • Fry Chicken for 10/15 min
    • Add Shan Malay Chicken Biryani
    • Add 1 small bowl of yogurt which is about 5-6 tbsp
    • Cut tomatoes and add leave on high heat for few min then let them simmer on low heat until they blend
    • Get a clean pot add 7-8 glasses of water let the water boil and add rice to it
    • Throw in two sticks of cinnamon and salt according to taste
    • Let the rice cook on high heat for 5-10 min but we dont want the rice to be fully cooked but instead keep it a little undercooked because we will simmer it later
    • Check the rice when its still a little undercooked drain it
    • Check the chicken if tomatoes have been blended the chicken is ready
    • Get a clean pot and add a layer of rice throw in a layer of garnish items (mint, dried plum, fried onions) then add a layer of chicken curry keep repeating it again rice, garnish and curry
    • In the end add the 2 drops of yellow color in 2 tbsp water at the top
    • Close the pot and leave it to simmer on low heat for 15 min
